Chai Discovery

Chai Discovery builds AI models that let scientists design new drug molecules on a computer instead of screening for them in a lab. Backed by OpenAI, it came out of stealth in 2024 by publishing its structure-prediction model with open weights rather than keeping it proprietary.

Notes

Three full-bleed bands carry the whole page: a periwinkle gradient hero, a deeper violet middle, and a dim office photograph for the recruiting close. The volumetric molecular renders are tinted to the same hue as the fields behind them, so they read as texture rather than illustration and never compete with the flush-left headline type. Partner news arrives as a stacked column of cards labelled with small typographic pills — NOVARTIS, PFIZER, ELI LILLY — instead of the usual logo wall, keeping the register scientific rather than promotional. The $400M Series C announcement sits in a modest floated card, almost easy to miss.
