FishingHelps scores how likely the fish are to bite today in any of 16,000-plus US towns, cities and lakes. Its whole forecast rests on solunar theory, which the site itself calls a folk model with mixed scientific support — an unusually honest thing to admit.

The homepage is one question set in heavy sans on a deep petrol-teal field, with “near you” picked out in cyan so the location promise lands before the search box does. Below the fold the palette flips to near-white and the explanation arrives as three plain cards — moon, weather, tide — each written in full sentences rather than feature bullets. A grid of state buttons handles the browsing, and the footer carries GeoNames, Open-Meteo and NOAA credits in small type. For a page whose job is to answer one question quickly, the restraint is the point.
