FootingDepth works out how deep a deck footing or fence post has to sit in a given US state, and how much concrete the hole takes. Every depth cites the code section it comes from, and the site insists the state figure is only a starting number until a local building department confirms it.

The page is built around one number and the design treats it that way: the 12″ answer sits alone in blue before anything else, then a to-scale cross-section drops it into the ground with ticks at 24, 36 and 48 inches. Stencil-condensed headings and hard black rules give it the look of site signage rather than a content page, and the flat orange 811 warning reads as a real safety notice instead of a styled callout. Colour does the structural work — soil brown behind the calculating half, cream behind the explanation — so the number and the reasoning never blur together.
