JavaSleep

JavaSleep is a magazine about caffeine and sleep, written for people who order a third espresso and still intend to be in bed by eleven. Nothing gets reviewed that a contributor hasn't actually slept on, and the CPAP and mattress pieces carry no affiliate rankings — rare in a category built on them.

Notes

The whole page is a single vertical gradient from oatmeal cream through coffee brown to midnight navy, so scrolling runs the same arc as the subject: last sip to first dream. A high-contrast display serif carries everything of weight — the hero, the calculator’s 31 mg readout, the closing pull quote — while letterspaced uppercase micro-labels handle the structural work, keeping the hierarchy legible without introducing a second voice. The caffeine timeline sits at the midpoint of the gradient in a translucent panel, its decay plotted as one thin line rather than a chart. Body copy holds a narrow measure throughout, unhurried.
