The Browser Company

The Browser Company of New York makes the Arc and Dia web browsers, and its entire corporate site is one screen holding one sentence. Even after Atlassian bought it for $610 million, the page still gives Arc — a browser it stopped building — equal billing with Dia.

Notes

Almost nothing is on this page. A warm bone-white field holds one engraved roundel — the company seal, its name curved around concentric rings — above a single italic serif line that names Dia and Arc as dotted underlines. Everything else is wide-letterspaced uppercase monospace in two tidy rows, small enough that the seal and the serif carry the hierarchy on their own. Five miniature colophon marks run along the bottom edge like the imprint page of a book, and a live count of people currently on the site ticks in the top corner — the only moving thing in an otherwise completely still composition.
